How we teach Accounting
For most students, Cambridge IGCSE Accounting (0452) is a first proper encounter with the language of business — debits and credits, the trial balance, the statements that summarise how an organisation is doing. We teach it so the logic clicks early, before the topics start to stack up.
The syllabus builds from double-entry bookkeeping and year-end adjustments to the financial statements of sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, finishing with an introduction to costing and ratio analysis. A multiple-choice paper tests breadth and accuracy, while the written papers reward candidates who can lay out a statement cleanly and explain what the numbers mean — both skills we practise deliberately.
Sessions are live and small, giving every student the room to ask “why does this go here?” until the double-entry instinct becomes second nature.
