How we teach Chemistry
The chemistry course we offer at IGCSE level follows AQA’s GCSE specification (8462), examined through two linear written papers that together cover the whole subject. We teach it so that each idea — from atomic structure to organic reactions — connects to the next, rather than sitting in isolation.
Students develop the core foundations — atomic structure, bonding, the mole concept and the patterns of the Periodic Table — before moving into acids and bases, energetics, rates and organic chemistry. Because both papers can draw on any topic and reward application, we revisit key ideas in new contexts and fold in the calculation and practical skills the specification expects.
Classes are live and small, with close feedback that catches misconceptions early and turns them into secure understanding.
