How we teach English Language
AQA A Level English Language (7702) is a rigorous, linguistically grounded course — students learn the formal tools of analysis and apply them to everything from everyday conversation to the way children acquire speech, across three written papers. Our teaching makes that analytical framework genuinely usable.
The specification covers language and identity, gender and power, language change over time, and child language acquisition, alongside discourse analysis, phonetics and sociolinguistics. Because the papers reward systematic, well-evidenced analysis and confident discursive writing, we drill the use of linguistic terminology and the construction of clear, supported arguments about how language works.
Lessons are live, capped small, with close feedback on analysis and written expression alike.
