How we teach Accounting
Cambridge A Level Accounting (9706) treats bookkeeping as the starting point, not the destination. The real work is interpretation — reading what a set of income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements actually says about a business, and being able to defend that judgement under exam conditions. Our teaching builds that analytical instinct from the ledger up.
Students move from double-entry foundations and year-end adjustments through partnership and limited-company accounts, then into the costing, budgeting and ratio analysis that dominate the A2 material. Because the qualification splits across AS and A2 papers — multiple choice alongside longer structured questions — we drill both the speed of recognition and the discipline of a fully worked, well-presented answer.
Classes run live and small, with every student’s workings checked line by line, since in accounting a single misplaced figure can unravel an entire statement.
