How we teach Biology
Edexcel’s International A Level Biology (YBI11) is modular by design — six units across IAS and IA2, with Units 3 and 6 assessing practical skills through a written exam. Students can build their grade unit by unit, and our course is structured to make each one count.
The early units secure the cellular and molecular groundwork — biological molecules, enzymes, membranes, cell division — before the later units open into the physiology, genetics and ecology of the A2 stage. The two practical-skills papers receive dedicated attention: interpreting results, evaluating method and identifying error are rehearsed as examinable skills, because under Edexcel that is exactly what they are.
Classes are live and small, with the unit-by-unit feedback a modular qualification rewards — strengthening a weak paper before it is sat, not after the result lands.
